The Year of the Diamond — ummm — Dragon

January 28, 2012 § Leave a comment

If you didn’t already know, we are in the midst of all manner of celebration of the Chinese New Year and 2012 is a very special one: The Year of the Dragon. No, not the 1985 Mickey Rourke movie, but the luckiest year of the Chinese Zodiac. Way down in Chinatown I passed by revelers dressed in those fabulous paper dragon costumes doing the traditional dance, which never fails to make me smile.

Meanwhile, uptown at Harry Winston this special time was being recognized in a slightly different way:

(Let’s zoom in a tad, shall we? I think these earrings were as big as the madeline that rounded out my lunch at Bergdorf’s today.)

This, too, made me smile. And not only on account of the pretty, sparkly things. Although they are awfully pretty…

May your Year of the Dragon be just as sparkly.

xx

(Photos: Some Cozy Night, with apologies for the slightly blurry earring shot. I think it was just too much for me.)
